In this post, I’ll teach you step by step how to fix a broken planter with epoxy. Whether you (or your pet) knocked your planter off of the table, strong winds wreaked havoc on your outdoor container plants, or something else, it happens! Planters are breakable, after all.

How To Fix A Broken Planter: What You Need
- Epoxy
- Gloves
- Sponge
- Paper Towels or Parchment Paper
1. Clean Your Planter
It’s important to start out with a clean planter, so the epoxy will stick. Use a sponge and some water to clean off the broken sections of your planter that you’ll be repairing.
2. Prepare Your Space
Choose a clean surface to repair your planter. Lay down your paper towels or parchment paper to protect your surface. Place your planter and the broken pieces on your surface covering. If you have a lot of broken pieces, organize them so you know how they fit together- the epoxy sets in 5 minutes so you’ll want to work quickly.
3. Mix The Epoxy
Read the instructions on the back of the epoxy package for mixing. Put on a pair of gloves for protection, since epoxy can burn your skin. Open the epoxy package and follow the mixing instructions. It’s normal for the epoxy to start heating up as it activates.
4. Attach The Broken Pieces Together
Attach your broken planter pieces together with the epoxy, holding them until they begin to set. This part will get a little tricky if you have multiple broken pieces, and if more than 5 minutes passes, you’ll have to mix more epoxy. No worries though, you should have more than enough in the package.
Depending on how many pieces you have, I recommend attaching the smaller pieces of your planter together first to form a larger piece, then attaching that to the planter once it sets.
Happy Planting!
